The OpenCV Picture Tool for OptimEyes Developer has been updated with a new option to work better with RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol) feeds as well as a few bug fixes. Version 25.6.3.1 can be downloaded now from the product page link above.

Changes in this update include:

  • Added an option to discard frames as necessary to avoid buffering of video feeds. Some backends do this automatically, but we discovered that when streaming RTSP feeds using FFmpeg, if the time required to process a frame in other OptimEyes Tools took too long, we could end up lagging behind the video feed. The new option will enable the user to decide whether to process every available frame or to discard frames as neededto remain in real time.
  • Fixed a bug that could prevent the correct backend and source options from being selected when editing script steps from the OpenCV Picture Tool.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the editing of Snap (image acquisition) script steps from the OpenCV Picture Tool.
