QuickSpots version 25.9.0.0 is ready for download. This is a free update for current licensees of QuickSpots version 25.5 or higher.

With this release, we have completely revamped the Results tab:

  • Where past versions only enabled you to export your data to a CSV file for use in a spreadsheet like Excel, the new version also displays your data in numerical and graphical formats. A variety of controls are included to enable you to perform such computations as background subtraction, normalization, and comparison between different arrays.
  • QuickSpots estimates the level of noise in your data and provides controls for compensating for noise to help you discover whether small differences between spot values are significant, or whether they may be caused by factors such as image quality or random variation.
  • In addition to CSV export, you can now save your data in a format that enables you to reload it back into QuickSpots for future viewing and adjustment to the calculations mentioned above.

With these updates, it may be possible to complete your analysis entirely within QuickSpots. Or if you still want to use Excel (or another spreadsheet), you'll be able to perform several calculations before exporting, saving you the trouble of figuring out how to do those calculations yourself.

Additional changes in this update include:

  • Templates were added for RayBiotech array models AAH-DDR-1, AAH-PhoDDR-1, and AAP-CYT-1.
  • Three templates were added for 8x12 (96 spot) arrays -- for arrays without paired spots, and arrays with either vertical or horizontal pairing. These can be customized as desired.
  • Upon returning to the Template Setup tab when analyzing multiple arrays from a single image, the display of the image (zoom level, etc.) is automatically restored to its previous state.
  • The PDF documentation for the QuickSpots Tool can now be found in the application's main folder, making it easier to find.
