OptimEyes Developer version 25.8.0.0 is ready for download. This version includes the following updates:

  • Added full Unicode support throughout the application, enabling, for example, the use of Chinese characters in file and folder names. (This change may fix an issue some users have experienced with the application freezing when copying and pasting in the software activation screen.)
  • Added the function "WriteBinary" to the CcTCPIP class. (By default, the class now converts output to UTF-8 before transmission. If you need to transmit UTF-16, use WriteBinary.)
  • Legacy DDE support was removed from the application and several Tools. (DDE has been considered obsolete for some time.)
  • Anchor Tool, Align Edges tab:
    • Fixed the default slope values in the line profile options dialog.
    • Updated to correctly initialize the alignment type setting.
  • Barcode Reader Tool:
    • Added the ability to use line ROIs drawn across barcodes in addition to rectangular ROIs. Processing is faster using line ROIs, but may be more reliable using rectangles, depending on image quality.
    • Fixed the "read vertical" option when using rectangular ROIs.
    • Fixed the default slope values in the line profile options dialog.
  • Blob Analysis Tool: increased the default maximum blob size.
  • Calibration Tool: fixed a crash caused by deleting a calibration object.
  • Edge Finder Tool:
    • Turned off display of outline labels by default.
    • Removed the redundant ".Outline" from the name of outline ROIs created by the Tool.
  • File Manager Tool: fixed a crash that sometimes occurred during a multi-open step after a multi-open had failed.
  • Lookup Tool: fixed a crash that occurred during some failures to open files.
  • ROI Manager Tool: when the active image or ROI is renamed, the Tool's display now updates immediately to reflect the change.
  • Text Tool: fixed an issue where text was not displayed initially after being added to an image.
  • Other minor updates.
